Charges laid following shots fired investigation

On Sunday, March 9, 2025, shortly after 3:30 pm, Burns Lake RCMP were called to a disturbance in Grassy Plains. It was reported that a firearm was involved and that shots had been fired.

With the assistance of ERT, police executed a search warrant on a residence and the suspect, discharging firearms was arrested without further incident.

Gerald Noth, 32 years old, has been charged with possessing weapon for dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and possess firearm without a license and/or registration. He has been released on conditions for a future court date.

All parties involved are known to each other and the RCMP do not believe there to be a further risk to the public. We continue to work with the Cheslatta Carrier Nation for the safety of the community said S/Sgt Josh Smith, NCO i/c Burns Lake RCMP.
