File # 2025-29

Sooke RCMP is investigating a fatal collision between two vehicles on Highway 14 in Sooke.

On January 2, 2025, just before 4:00 p.m., Sooke RCMP responded to the 5000 block of Sooke Rd (Highway 14) after a car collided with a truck. It was determined that an Acura 1.6E was driving westbound and collided with a truck travelling eastbound when a collision occurred around a sharp bend portion of the road. Sadly, the 63-year-old female driver of the Acura died at the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured.

An RCMP traffic analyst attended the scene to conduct a thorough examination and collect evidence to determine what led to the collision. The highway re-opened to traffic at around 9:00 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sooke RCMP at 250-642-5241.
