On June 24, 2025, at approximately 11:27 p.m., West Shore RCMP responded to a report of pick-up trucks driving erratically and burning out tires in the parking lot outside 3005 Merchant Way in Langford.
West Shore RCMP Frontline and Traffic Unit officers attended this location and observed a grey Ford F350 and a Red Dodge Ram in the lot along with thier respective drivers. Both drivers were exhibiting symptoms of alcohol impairment and were investigated for impaired driving.
The driver of the Dodge Ram is identified as a 19-year old male and was issued a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
The driver of the Ford F350 is identified as a 19-year-old male and was issued a 3-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
Officers were able to locate these vehicles right away due to quick actions of the complaint reporting it to police as it was unfolding. Road safety is a priority for West Shore RCMP. If you see dangerous driving behaviour and/or suspect impaired driving, please report it to police right away, said Cpl. Mike Jacobson who is in charge of the West Shore RCMP Traffic Unit.
