North Vancouver RCMP are seeking dash cam and witnesses in a fatal collision involving a commercial vehicle and a dog.
On May 17th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. North Vancouver RCMP received a report of a dog that was run over by a commercial vehicle at the intersection of West 3rd Street and Forbes Avenue in North Vancouver. A man and their leashed dog were waiting to cross Forbes Ave. on the south side of West 3rd St. when a commercial vehicle making a turn jumped the edge of the side walk and ran over the dog. Sadly, the dog named Sweety did not survive its injuries.
The commercial vehicle failed to stop after the collision and continued south on Forbes Ave. The commercial vehicle is described as a dump truck style vehicle that had two dump beds as a trailer attachment.

Our investigation is ongoing and it is too early to tell if the driver intentionally fled the scene or if they had any knowledge of the collision at the time of incident.
