North Vancouver RCMP are investigating a fatal incident that occurred earlier this week.

On June 24, 2024 at approximately 2:30 p.m., police received a report from the BC Coroner’s Service. Investigators were informed that a man had died in hospital following a serious injury allegedly sustained from falling from an overpass on June 23.

The man was found beneath the overpass, which runs along West 2nd Street between Bewicke Avenue and Fell Avenue and crosses Mosquito Creek, and was taken to hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Pictured here is a Google Maps screenshot of the area the man was found, below the West 2nd Street overpass in North Vancouver.

In an effort to further the investigation and rule out any suspicious activity, police are seeking any potential witnesses or dash cam footage that may have additional information.

The investigation in ongoing and in its earliest stages, but we’re appealing to any member of the public that may have more information, said Constable Mansoor Sahak, spokesperson for the North Vancouver RCMP. If you were driving or walking on West 2nd Street between 2:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on June 23 and witnessed anything suspicious, please call us at 604-985-1311 and quote file #24-12318. Your dash cam may have captured something. Please check.
