2024-09-21 23:15 PDT
File # 2024-1092
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been deployed to Langley in response to a shooting.
On September 21, 2024, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Langley RCMP responded to shots fired in the area of 196 Street and 84 Avenue, Langley. On arrival, first responders located two men suffering from gun-shot wounds. One of the victims succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The other victim is being treated for injuries. The area has been secured and a neighbourhood canvass is underway.
Preliminary indications are that this shooting is linked to the ongoing BC gang conflict. Although no suspects have yet been identified, this is believed to be a targeted-shooting and an isolated event. This investigation is in its initial stages.
Homicide investigators are in the area canvassing for CCTV, dashcam, and witnesses. If anyone has CCTV or dashcam in the area of 196 Street and 84 Avenue between 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on September 21, they are being asked to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
