Over the weekend, Port Alberni RCMP responded to a male stabbed in the 3000 block of 4th Ave.
On Saturday December 14, 2024 at approximately 4:30pm, Port Alberni RCMP received a report of a male stabbed inside a building in the 3000 block of 4th Ave in Port Alberni.
RCMP members arrived on scene to find an adult male with multiple stab wounds. BC Ambulance Service (BCEHS) were busy on other calls and unable to immediately attend. RCMP members transported the victim to hospital. A Police officer carried the victim out of the two-storey building and rode in the backseat while attempting to keep pressure on the victim’s wounds.
The male was stabilized at hospital before being transported out of the community for additional medical treatment. He remains in critical condition. RCMP located and arrested the suspect for Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
Additional police resources were called in to assist with the investigation resulting in the execution of a Search Warrant. The suspect was held in police custody to await a bail hearing on Sunday December 15, 2024.

At the time of writing, the suspect remains in police custody for further court process. The victim and suspect are known to one another, this investigation is ongoing.
