File # 2023-3743

On July 24th, 2023, a pair of divers contracted by the Shambhala Music Festival to recover garbage from the river during the festival, located a deceased man in the river. The divers were able to bring the man to shore, where efforts were made to revive him. Unfortunately, the man was pronounced deceased after life-saving efforts were unsuccessful.

The man has been identified as a 43-year-old male from Calgary, Alberta.

Investigators haven’t been able to confirm whether the man was part of the music festival.

At this time, the man appeared to have drowned, with no foul play suspected.
