Single vehicle collision

The Kitimat RCMP was advised of a single vehicle collision that had occurred on highway 37 on February 27th. The report was received at 8:11 am, however, it was reported that the collision had occurred at approximately 4:30 am as the driver was commuting to work. It was further reported the vehicle was south bound and got caught up in slush before going into the ditch. The driver was able to get a ride with a co worker and was luckily not injured. (2025-686)

Noisy neighbours

At 4:17 am on February 28th, the Kitimat RCMP received a report of neighbours playing loud music and yelling in an apartment on the 400 block of City Centre. The investigating officers attended and were able to speak to the occupants of the loud apartment. The music was turned off and there were no further noise issues reported. (2025-698)

Bitcoin fraud

Unfortunately, another Kitimat resident was the victim of a fraudulent phone call, costing them a large sum of money. It was reported on March 1st that the victim had received a call from an online company that they had an account with. During the call, they were advised that their account was compromised and they had fraudulent transactions. The victim was allegedly transferred to the company’s anti fraud department who stated that the victims bank account was going to be frozen and they were required to take the money out before that happened. Further more, to protect the money, they would need to place the money into a local Bitcoin machine and someone would bring the money back to the victim. Once the transaction was completed, the victim realized it seemed off and wanted to report it to the detachment. (2025-710)

Mischief to vehicle

The Kitimat RCMP received a report of damage done to a vehicle on March 1st at 8:16 pm. The investigating officer attended the scene on the 300 block of Quatsino Blvd and found that the vehicle had a broken window, the drivers side mirror was damaged and the fuel cap had been pried at. The area was canvassed for CCTV footage. Are you missing your cellphone?

On March 3rd, a cellphone that was found on the 1000 block of Lahakas Blvd was turned into the Kitimat RCMP detachment. The investigating officer made several enquiries to attempt to identify the owner of the of the phone, however had no luck. If you have noticed your phone missing, please contact the Kitimat RCMP detachment. If you are able to identify the phone, we’d like to return it to you. (2025-730)

Stolen trailer

The Kitimat RCMP received a report of a stolen trailer on March 5th. It was reported that the trailer had gone missing from the 300 block of Railway Ave sometime overnight. The trailer is described as a Black 2022 8x12 Canadian Trailers Hydraulic heavy-duty dump trailer bearing British Columbia License Plate 21879K. The trailer has two axels and wood railing tops. CCTV footage of a white vehicle towing the trailer from the area was also provided, showing it leave the area at 12:07 am. If you saw anything suspicious or have seen this trailer, please contact the Kitimat RCMP at 250-632-7111 and cite file number 2025-767.
