Police investigate suspected drink tampering in downtown Kamloops

 The Kamloops RCMP is investigating reports of suspected drink tampering that occurred between June 24 and June 28, 2025, at licensed establishments in the downtown business area.

As many as four individuals including both male and female patrons and employees have reported symptoms consistent with being drugged after consuming beverages. One victim reported meeting an unknown man shortly before experiencing reduced cognitive alertness and noticing an unusual taste in their drink.

The Kamloops RCMP has obtained surveillance footage and is actively working to identify additional victims and any persons of interest. Investigators are also in the process of speaking with witnesses and reviewing further evidence, said Corporal Dana Napier Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.

While no subsequent offences have been reported following the administration of the suspected substances, the public is reminded to take the following precautions when consuming alcohol or other beverages in public settings:

Anyone who believes they may have been affected, or who has information related to these incidents, is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2025-21075.
