Police with the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP assisted with a structure fire at a commercial dwelling in the 4200 block of 32nd Street in Vernon. On Tuesday August 27th, 2024 at approximately 5:00 pm, frontline officers along with personnel from Vernon Fire Rescue and the BC Ambulance Service responded to a blaze at the Blue Stream Motel where a fire had fully engulfed the upper northern level of the building.
Our officers cleared the southern level of the building to ensure all residents were evacuated states Cpl Tania Finn, Media Relations Officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP. Once it was safe to do so, the northern part of the building was cleared by fire personnel. At this time, all persons are accounted for and no injuries or fatalities were reported.

Police are in the early stages of the investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
