Richmond RCMP is excited to announce its upcoming community engagement event on May 3, 2025 at Lansdowne Centre, featuring Fraud Awareness, Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), Cops for Cancer and a special appearance by Sergeant Safety Bear! This initiative is part of Richmond RCMP’s ongoing commitment to enhancing community awareness and safety through education.
At this event, the community will get to meet our specialized investigators from Richmond’s Economic Crime Unit where they will share their knowledge and expertise on various fraud awareness and prevention techniques. Our Community Engagement Team will also be there to talk about the Richmond RCMP D.A.R.E. keepin’ it REAL program. Everyone is encouraged to come and join us for a fun day of activities, including photo opportunities with Sergeant Safety Bear and Mountie in Red Serge.
In addition, come and meet two of our Richmond’s police officers who will be participating in Cops for Cancer Tour de Coast 2025 in September. This is an annual event put on by the Canadian Cancer Society, where police agencies and other emergency services personnel join together to cycle nearly 800 kilometers over 8 days along the coast of BC to help raise money for children with cancer, their families, pediatric cancer research and various support services at the Canadian Cancer Society. Our officers will be showcasing their cycling skills at this event.
We look forward to this opportunity to meet our local residents and highlight some of the work done by our Economic Crime Unit and Community Engagement Team to help make our city safe said Corporal Melissa Lui, Media Relations Officer of the Richmond RCMP Detachment.
