Langley RCMP investigating a fatal collision involving a pick-up truck and motorcycle

On Tuesday September 17, 2024 at 5:30 pm, Langley RCMP was notified of a serious motor vehicle collision in the 26900 block of Fraser Highway. Frontline officers responded to the scene along with Township of Langley Fire Department and BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS).

Initial investigation has indicated the driver of a Dodge pickup was stopped in the center lane of Fraser Highway waiting to complete a left turn to head east. A motorcycle, travelling west on Fraser collided with the front of the truck. Several bystanders and witnesses immediately began first aid on the driver of the motorcycle.

Unfortunately, the driver of the motorcycle, a 22 year old Abbotsford man, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The driver of the pick-up remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Langley RCMP’s General Investigation Section (GIS) attended along with the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS).

If you were driving in the area around the time, please review any dash cam footage you have. Anyone who has information regarding the collision or witnessed it is asked to contact the Langley RCMP at 604 532-3200.
