Drugs and cash located during traffic stop

At approximately 12:20pm the Fort St John RCMP Street Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop to arrest the occupants of the vehicle for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, in the area of 100th Street and 102nd Avenue, Fort St John.

Once the vehicle stopped, a youth passenger fled the vehicle and when he was told he was under arrest, failed to stop for police.

A short foot pursuit ensued and the passenger was apprehended by police. The passenger was found to be in possession of a quantity of drugs and cash.

Both the driver and the passenger remain in police custody and the investigation is ongoing.
