West Shore Officers respond to 7 collisions in 12 hours

It was a busy 12-hour period for West Shore RCMP Traffic Unit and Frontline officers yesterday, April 29, as they attended seven collisions in the West Shore. Overall 77 calls for service were received in the 24 hour period with 63 of those calls being reported between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.. 

Brief details of the collisions are provided below:

9:41 a.m. – Langford, at West Shore Pkwy / Constellation Ave, two vehicle collision. No injuries reported.

1:45 p.m. –Langford, 2401 Millstream Rd (Millstream Village Shopping Centre). Report of a hit and run when a vehicle caused damage to the property damaging a concrete block and fence.

4:11 p.m.- Langford, 3100 block of Trans Canada Hwy, three vehicle collision where a Mazda 3 was rear ended by a Nissan Frontier, which was rear ended by a Honda CRV. Traffic came to a sudden slow down contributing to this collision.

4: 19 p.m. – Langford, 3000 block Trans Canada Hwy, single motorcycle carrying a driver and passenger crashed. Both suffered serious non-life-threatening injuries. Traffic had suddenly stopped due to the collision noted above contributing to the motorcycle being unable to stop safely in time.

4:45 p.m. – Colwood, on Ocean Blvd – two vehicle collision. One vehicle lost control while reversing and collided with a parked vehicle pushing over the embankment onto the beach area. No injuries reported.

6:24 p.m.- Langford, 2900 block of Trans Canada Hwy, an Audi A4 stopped suddenly in moving traffic and was rear ended by two other vehicles behind it. The driver of Audi A4 displayed symptoms of alcohol impairment and an impaired investigation was perused. The driver was issued a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition and 30-day vehicle impoundment.

8:52 p.m. – Langford, 2600 block Sooke Rd, Police responded to a report of a Pick-up truck in the ditch. The driver was displaying symptoms of alcohol impairment and an impaired investigation was perused. driver was issued a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition and 30-day vehicle impoundment.

West Shore RCMP would like to remind motorists to please keep a safe driving distance between your vehicle and the one in front of you. Additionally, If you observe erratic driving behaviour please find a safe spot to pull over, or have your passenger, report it right away.
