Langley RCMP investigating encampment fire

On January 30, 2025 at approximately 4:50am, Langley RCMP received a report of fire at an encampment located at the 19700-block of Highway 1. One person was located deceased.

The Langley RCMP are on scene and working closely with the Township of Langley Fire Department and the BC Coroners Service. 

"We are in the very early stages of this investigation and actively working to determine the full circumstance that led to this fatality," says Sgt. Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP. 

If you were travelling on Highway 1 between 192 Street and 200 Street around 3:45am to 5:00 am and you have dash camera footage, then please contact the Langley RCMP and quote file 2025-3085.
