The Gabriola Island RCMP is investigating a deceased man found in the ocean off Gabriola Island.
On October 22, 2023 at around 2:00 pm, Gabriola Island RCMP members responded to a report of a deceased person found in the water in the area of Dragons Lane on the east side of Gabriola. The deceased man has been positively identified as a non-Gabriola resident. The circumstances around the death are being investigated, however criminality is not suspected.
The BC Coroners Service is conducting a concurrent investigation.
