Youth struck by vehicle: police investigating

The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is looking for witnesses and video related to a collision between a motor vehicle and a youth yesterday morning.

On Oct. 10, 2024, around 8:10 a.m., Kamloops RCMP Detachment frontline officers were called to the intersection of Tranquille Road and Windbreak Street, where an 11-year-old youth with a bike had been struck by an SUV while using the crosswalk.

The youth was transported to hospital with injuries and is expected to recover, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. Please reach out to police as soon as possible if you witnessed the collision or have information that may be related.

The investigation is ongoing.
