On Saturday, July 5th, 2025, at 10:53 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report about a single motor vehicle incident on Green Road, in Fruitvale, BC.
The vehicle had left the roadway and crashed into the ditch. A 41-year-old Fruitvale man was allegedly driving at the time of the crash was injured and left the scene.
The officer attended the scene. The officer investigated and located the man at his residence a short distance from the scene. The officer observed that the man’s ability to operate a motor vehicle may have been impaired by alcohol. A demand was read to the man who provide a sample of his breath which resulted in a fail.
The 41-year-old Fruitvale man was issued a 90-Day Immediate Driving Prohibition under Section 215 of the BC Motor Vehicle Act. His vehicle was impounded for up to 30 days.
On Sunday, July 6, 2025, at 3:53 a.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer responded to a report of a single motor vehicle incident in the 8000 block of Highway 22A, in Trail, BC.
A vehicle had crashed into a tree. A 27-year-old Fruitvale was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash was reportedly uninjured.
The officer attended the scene and located the man. The officer discovered that the man was prohibited from driving a motor vehicle contrary to Section 93 of the BC Motor Vehicle Act. The officer arrested and release the man at the scene.
The 27-year-old Trail man will make his first appearance on September 18, 2025, in Provincial Court, in Rossland, BC, in relation to this incident.
The officer will forward a report recommending a criminal charge to Crown Counsel.2025 Q2 Trail and Greater District RCMP Statistics (compared to 2024 Q2)
