Dossier nº 2024-779
**Update on February 16, 2024
On February 9, 2024 the Sea to Sky Squamish RCMP responded to a report of a child abduction attempt in the area of Highlands Way N and The Boulevard in Squamish. The initial report received was that an 11-year old boy was approached by an unidentified male who asked if the boy wanted to get into his truck.
An extensive investigation was conducted and involved both the General Duty Watch and General Investigation Section Members.
The investigative conclusion reached was that there was no attempted abduction, and that at no time was there any risk to the general public or the youth involved.
The safety of the children in our community is of paramount importance to the Sea to Sky Squamish RCMP, and we would like to thank everyone who assisted investigators in the course of their investigation, said Constable Katrina Boehmer, Media Relations Officer for Sea to Sky RCMP.
