Missing firearm prompts local school lockdown

On January 28 at 9:25 am Fort St John RCMP received a report that youth was in possession of a firearm and the youths location was currently unknown. The youth is a student at North Peace Secondary School but had not attended school today.

Out of an abundance of caution the school was placed on lockdown. The youth was later located at a different location and apprehended without incident.

The lockdown at the school has been lifted. The investigation is ongoing and there are no further details available at this time. More information may be released as it becomes available.
