On Monday, March 10, 2025, a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report about a 66-year-old Trail woman who was defrauded of $8,800 after investing in cryptocurrency through a publicly available website.
The woman was encouraged by the website to keep investing until the total amount of money invested reached $8,800. She was unable to retrieve her money as the website told her that it was locked up in her account. The officer advised her not to send any more money to the website and referred her to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Website.

On Friday, April 4, 2025, 9:29 a.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report that two parking meters were damaged in the 1500 block of Cedar Avenue, in Trail, BC. The suspect tried to break into the parking meters to steal the money inside.
A City of Trail Bylaw officers noticed the damage to the two parking meters on while on a foot patrol.The matter remains under investigation.

Overall, our statistics remained very similar to the previous years quarter. Trail RCMP does expect an increase in drug trafficking investigations as our Crime Reduction Unit is back in operation, says Sgt. Wicentowich.
