On January 4, 2025 at 3:52am, the Fort St John RCMP, received a report of two people believed to be stealing from a residential construction site located on the 8900 block of 112th Avenue, Fort St John.
Fort St John RCMP front-line police officers immediately attended and located the two suspects loading wood material into a trailer attached to a Dodge pickup truck.

Both suspects were arrested without incident.
The female was released on an Appearance Notice with a future court date of February 25, 2025.
The male suspect, Jean-Paul Roberts, was held for court and is facing a charge of Fail to comply with Release Order.
Jean-Paul Roberts also received several violation tickets under the BC Motor Vehicle Act. The Dodge pickup truck was impounded.
This is a great example of a vigilant member of the public partnering with the police to intervene in a situation, said Constable Chad Neustaeter, Fort St John Media Relations Officer. All the items loaded on the trailer were returned to the construction site.

Roberts has been remanded into police custody until January 7, 2025, when he is scheduled to reappear before a judge.
