The Kamloops RCMP Detachment is requesting the public’s help identifying a suspect who allegedly rammed a truck into a police vehicle.
On Nov. 2, 2024, around 12:35 a.m., a Kamloops RCMP frontline officer was patrolling the 200-block of Tranquille Road, when she recognized an unoccupied suspect vehicle from two previous investigations: fail to remain at the scene of a collision, and flight from police.
During the investigation, a man returned to the vehicle – an older model white Ford 150 pickup truck with no license plates, and a traffic stop was initiated.
Unfortunately, the driver did not stop and instead rammed an unmarked police vehicle in front of him, then sped through the parking lot, southbound onto Briar Avenue, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson. Luckily, the officer in the vehicle was uninjured.
