The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP is investigating a threats report that resulted in the closure a Vernon high school yesterday.

On Thursday, May 15th, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., police received a report about a threat that had been made against a high school in the 2700-block of 41st Ave in Vernon. In response to this information, school administration initiated an evacuation of the building to ensure the safety of staff and students. It has since been determined there is no credible threat to the safety of the school and normal activities have since resumed.

We understand situations like this can cause concern and recognize the impact they have on the overall feeling of safety in our community. These types of are taken very seriously and we are continuing to investigate the matter.
