Three bodies recovered in Garibaldi Provincial Park

On July 8, 2024, as a result of continued search efforts by the Squamish Search and Rescue (SAR) teams, Sea to Sky RCMP - Squamish confirm three bodies have been recovered in the area of Atwell Peak in the Garibaldi Provincial Park.

Members of Squamish Search and Rescue worked with the RCMP this morning to recover the bodies of three individuals in the Atwell Peak area. The task has been turned over to the RCMP and the Coroner Service, said BJ Chute, Manager Squamish Search and Rescue.

Sea to Sky RCMP – Squamish are in touch with the families, who are requesting privacy during this difficult time. The names of the deceased will not be released.

As the file is now with the BC Coroners Service, Sea to Sky RCMP – Squamish will not be releasing further information.
