Alleged assault leaves Fruitvale man in serious condition

On Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 1:33 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report about a 47-year-old Fruitvale man who was allegedly assaulted during a hockey game at the Beaver Valley Arena located at 1777 Green Road, in Fruitvale. The alleged assault occurred during the third period of the hockey game on Wednesday, March 18, 2025, between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

The dispute between the Fruitvale man and another man from Grand Forks, BC, began over the use of an air horn. The matter escalated into a physical fight between the men. The Fruitvale man was allegedly violently thrown to the ground and sustained serious injuries as a result. He was transported by BC Emergency Health Services to hospital for immediate medical attention. He remains at the hospital in serious condition.

The Grand Forks man is believed to be 40-50 years old. Trail RCMP wishes to speak to the man about the incident.

Police ironically respond to people using drugs outside of drug store

On Saturday, March 22, 2025, a frontline Trail and Greater RCMP officer received a report about two individuals using drugs outside of a cannabis dispensary in the 8100 block of Highway 3B.

The individuals had left the area before police could attend the scene.
