Vanderhoof

2024-10-17 11:35 PDT

File # 2024-2924

On Friday, October 11, 2024, at 8:24 pm, Vanderhoof RCMP were notified of a single vehicle crash involving an animal in the 5800 Block of Sackner Road.

While police were responding to this call, they were advised that two people, who attended the scene to assist with the animal involved collision had been involved in a separate, unrelated collision.

The vehicle they were in had been struck by another vehicle and was on its roof with two people trapped inside.

Sadly, both people were pronounced deceased at the scene. Police arrested one person at the scene in connection with the second crash and believe alcohol may have played a role in the collision.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time. More details may be released as they become available.
