Vancouver man facing multiple charges after BC Highway Patrol officer injured

A Vancouver man has been formally charged with three criminal counts, and a Motor Vehicle Act offence, after a BC Highway Patrol officer was seriously injured during a traffic stop.

On February 17, 2024, just after 10:30 a.m., a BC Highway Patrol officer was investigating a driving offence on Highway #91 near 72 Avenue, in Delta, BC, involving the driver of a Nissan Versa who allegedly left the scene.

As a result of the investigation, the BC Prosecution Service has laid the following charges against 57-year-old Tobin Haas of Vancouver:

Haas is scheduled for his next appearance in Surrey Provincial Court on April 1, 2025. The police officer involved is still recovering from his injuries.
