A two-vehicle crash Monday morning led to the seizure of a firearm, ammunition, and brass knuckles.
On Oct. 30, 2023, around 5:55 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers attended a collision at Victoria Street West and Mission Flats Road, where a white truck had been struck by a red SUV. As part of the investigation, police officers located a knife, brass knuckles, and a loaded semi-automatic firearm.
The red SUV was also found to be uninsured and outfitted with a mismatched license plate, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.

Three people were arrested and taken back to cells. A quantity of suspected illegal drugs which exceeded the limit exempted for personal possession, was also seized. The suspects were later released without process, pending the investigation’s conclusion. A number of tickets were issued for violations including drive contrary to restrictions; failure to obey traffic control devices, no insurance, no plate, and others.
