The Kitimat RCMP was contacted on June 19th at 11:09 am regarding a collision between a dump truck and utility wires within the Strawberry Meadows neighbourhood. The investigating officer attended and it was found that the Dump truck box had not been all the way down as the vehicle left a property, causing damages to the utility wires and poles. The driver was issued a violation ticket for driving without due care and attention and other insurance related violations. The dump truck was issued a Box 1 Notice and Order, ensuring the vehicle will be inspected before being allowed back on the roadway. (2025-2071)
On June 20th at 8:54 pm, the Kitimat RCMP was notified of a person that appeared to be intoxicated on the 200 block of City Centre. The investigating officer attended the area and located a male who was found to be very intoxicated. The male requested to be transported to a local hospital by emergency health services as he was not feeling well. (2025-2097)
While on routine patrol at 1:10 am on June 21st, the manner a vehicle was being driven along Haisla Blvd caught the attention of a Kitimat RCMP officer. A traffic stop was conducted and the officer began an impaired operation of a motor vehicle investigation. The driver provided two samples of breath into roadside screening devices, which resulted in a FAIL reading. The driver was issued a 90-day immediate roadside driving prohibition and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days. (2025-2101)

A vehicle stop was conducted by a Kitimat RCMP officer due to a safety issue the officer saw while making patrols on June 21st at 1:15pm. During the traffic stop, the driver was found to be prohibited from driving. As a result, the driver was arrested. The driver was released on an appearance notice for a court date at a future date to answer to the charge of driving while prohibited. The vehicle was impounded for 7 days. (2025-2104)
On June 22nd at 2:00 pm, a Kitimat RCMP officer was conducting patrols along Highway 37. While traveling northbound, the officer noticed a vehicle behind them passing traffic. The vehicle caught up to the officer, who was driving an unmarked police vehicle, and proceeded to pull out and pass the officer and the vehicle the officer was following. The officer engaged their Radar unit and found the passing vehicle to be travelling at 151 km/h in the 100 km/h zone, A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was issued a violation ticket for excessive speed and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days. A vehicle collision on Highway 37, near the Kitimat River bridge, was reported to the Kitimat RCMP on June 23rd at 1:11 am. The investigating officers attended and found that a northbound pickup truck had gone off the road into the ditch and struck a tree, causing the deployment of the vehicles air bags. The driver of the vehicle had been transported to a local hospital by Emergency health services with minor injuries. The investigation onto this collision is still ongoing. (2025-2125)
A traffic stop along Kuldo Blvd was conducted by a Kitimat RCMP officer ay 12:52 am on June 25th. The officer initiated an impaired operation of a motor vehicle investigation. During the investigation, the driver refused to provide a breath sample into an approved screening device. It was also found the driver was prohibited from driving and had a warrant for their arrest. The driver was arrested for the warrant and was released from custody with a future court date for the warrant and to answer to the charge of driving while prohibited. The driver was also issued a 90-day immediate roadside driving prohibition for failing to provide breath samples. The Vehicle was impounded as well. (2025-2156)
