On March 18, 2025 just before 8:00pm, the Fort St John RCMP received a report of a man allegedly attempting to break into a truck in a parking lot the area of 112 Avenue and 86 Street, Fort St John.

Based on information received from the public, Fort St John RCMP frontline officers attended the area and located the suspect determined to be Devin Calliou. Calliou was immediately arrested on outstanding warrants from Dawson Creek and Beaverlodge, Alberta.

Calliou was also arrested for new offences due to the initial report received from the public. Criminal charges of Theft of Motor Vehicle, Mischief to Property and two counts of Fail to Comply with Order have been approved by the BC Crown Prosecution Services.

"This man is well known to police throughout the entire Peace Region", said Staff Sergeant Scott Watson for the Fort St John RCMP detachment.  "The cooperation between the public and police should help stem some of the vehicle thefts that have been recently occurring in the region."

Devin Calliou is currently in police custody and is being held for court to determine bail.

The Fort St John RCMP wish to thank the public for their keen awareness and willingness to report their observations to the police.
