A North Shore man who heard his truck being stolen last night refused to stay idle and instead, helped police with its safe recovery.
On Jan. 28, 2025, around 9:15 p.m., Kamloops RCMP Detachment frontline officers received a report of the theft, in which an older model white, blue, and green GMC pickup truck had just been taken from the 100-block of Angus Street. As part of the investigation, police stopped the stolen vehicle on Kicking Horse Drive in Juniper Ridge and arrested its driver.
Thanks to the updates and information provided by the truck’s owner, frontline officers were able to quickly and safely take a suspect into custody without issue, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson.
