File # 2025-1537
Police are investigating after a single motorcyclist died on Trans-Canada Hwy near Mill Bay, BC.
On June 5, 2025, at around 9:30 p.m., Shawnigan Lake RCMP responded to a report of a motorcycle crash on the Trans-Canada Hwy near Mill Bay. Early witness reports indicated that the lone motorcyclist was travelling northbound before losing control and colliding with the center median. The motorcyclist unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The Trans-Canada Hwy was closed in both directions for approximately 3 hours to allow the investigation and collection of evidence to take place.
It appears that speed may have played an important factor leading up to the crash, said Corporal Alex Bérubé, spokesperson for the BC RCMP.
Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact the Shawnigan Lake RCMP at 250-743-5514.
