Pedestrian deceased in hit and run on Highway 97, south of Oliver, BC.

On Sunday, June 15th at 4:22 pm, Oliver RCMP were called to a motor vehicle incident to which a pedestrian was struck while walking southbound on the side of the road near Cassini Cellars Winery, approximately 6 kilometers south of Oliver on Highway 97. Officers attended along with medical personnel to which a 22 year old male from Surrey was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver failed to remain at the scene. The incident is currently under investigation.

BC Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s assistance with this investigation and asking for any information or dash cash cam video during this time and location.

BC Highway Patrol is reaching out to the individual or individuals responsible and asking them to do the right thing and contact the RCMP immediately.
