Repeat property crime offender back in custody

Smithers RCMP have arrested a repeat property crime offender who was wanted on 11 warrants.

Amily Tom has been charged with numerous offences, including failing to comply with a probation order, breaching a release order, mischief, and multiple counts of theft and break and enter.

Property crime offences significantly impact our community, and while we remain committed to holding individuals accountable, the ultimate decision rests with the courts, said Sergeant Ryan Law, of the Smithers RCMP.

We also recognize that addressing crime requires a collaborative effort, and we remain committed to working with the community and our partner agencies, added Constable Jocelyn Foidart, who co-chairs the Smithers Situation Table.
