File # 2025-4258
On June 5, 2025 the Cariboo-Chilcotin Crime Reduction Unit (CC-CRU) along with Williams Lake Detachment executed a search warrant at a residence in the city.
The CC-CRU was deployed in Williams Lake to assist with criminal enforcement actions in local crime. On June 4, 2025, during proactive enforcement, police observed a vehicle whose occupants appeared to be actively trafficking in drugs.
As a result of police investigative actions evidence was obtained to support drug trafficking at a residence on Smith Street in the city.
Police obtained a search warrant and along with resources from frontline officers, GIS and PDS, the home was searched and police located suspected cocaine, magic mushrooms, fentanyl, methamphetamine, different types of pills, several cartons of suspected illegal cigarettes, firearms, ammunition, approximately $5000 in cash as well other items related to the drug trafficking.
One adult man was arrested in the residence. A second person, believed to be a resident of the home, arrived during the search, attempted to flee but was arrested without incident. During the arrest police found suspected cocaine in a sealed package on his person.
We are committed to proactive, targeted enforcement of the illegal drug trade in our city with public safety being our top priority said Insp Rob Lake, OIC Williams Lake RCMP.
