Man charged with weapon possession and breach of probation
On May 12, 2025, at approximately 1:20 pm, Powell River RCMP responded to a report of a male who was in possession of a can of pepper spray and was threatening to use it on someone else.
Police attended and located the male at the corner of Kokanee Place and Abbotsford Street. Police searched the male and located a can of pepper spray in his possession and as a result, he was arrested.
As a result of the investigation, the male, identified as Keaton JOLIE-HARTERY, has been charged with uttering threats and breach of probation. He appeared in court on May 13th, where he was released on conditions by a Provincial Court Judge. He will appear in court again on May 27, 2025.
Theft from vehicle
On May 12, 2025, at approximately 8:59am, Powell River RCMP responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle that occurred in the 6900 block of Invermere Court on May 9. A radio, binoculars, wallet and rangefinder valued at over $500 were taken from inside the vehicle.

Abandoned electric scooter located by police
On May 10 at approximately 4:05pm, Powell River RCMP were making patrols in the area of Joyce Avenue and Crofton Street when they located an electric scooter stashed behind a large propane tank in the Carlson Club parking lot. The scooter was seized by police, as there was no one around, and they were concerned it would be stolen. Records checks were completed, and the scooter was never reported as stolen.
