Serious pedestrian collision in Cloverdale

Surrey RCMP is advising of a serious pedestrian collision that occurred in Cloverdale on early Friday morning that involved a pedestrian. The southbound traffic on 176 Street from 64 Avenue is closed until further notice.

On December 22, 2023 at 5:53 am, Surrey RCMP received a report of a pedestrian struck at the intersection of 176 Street at 64 Avenue. The victim was treated by BC Ambulance Service and transported to Royal Columbian Hospital with critical injuries.

The Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) has been called out to assist with the investigation. Speed and impairment is not believed to be a factor in this incident.

The investigation is in the early stages and investigators are speaking with witnesses to identify all factors that led to this collision. Traffic in the area will be affected for an undetermined amount of time as investigators process the scene. Currently, 176 Street is closed to southbound traffic from 64 Avenue.
