File # 2023-36658
Kamloops police are investigating a suspicious fire that occurred in a vehicle downtown, which had already been set ablaze previously.
On Oct. 10, 2023, around 7:55 a.m., Kamloops RCMP Detachment frontline officers responded to the 200-block of Victoria Street West, where Kamloops firefighters had extinguished a blaze in an SUV parked on commercial property.
The cause and the motive behind the fire are still under investigation, but police are treating it as arson, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. At this time, there is nothing to suggest it’s related to last year’s investigation, which remains unsolved.
