The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 251 calls between June 24 and July 1, 2025. Below are a few highlights of those calls.

Woman with firearm arrested

On June 24, Terrace RCMP were notified of an incident on Benner Street where a woman had threatened a group of teenagers with a firearm after they had been playing games near her property. The incident occurred at approximately 11 pm. The youth were reported to have been playing a game of manhunt in the neighbourhood but ran to get a parent after the incident occurred. A parent came outside to confront the woman who was later arrested by RCMP. Charges were approved for:

Police searched the woman’s residence and located the firearm which was seized. The woman was later released by a judge with conditions and a new court date related to the matter. No one was injured in this incident. (2025-4894)

Excessive speed and other infractions

On June 27 after 9:00 pm, an officer with the BC Highway Patrol unit was patrolling in the area of the Kalum Motel on Highway 16 which is a posted 60 km per hour zone. The officer observed a blue vehicle travelling west bound at a rate of 127 km per hour which was captured on radar. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver of the vehicle was identified by her class 7N drivers license. The driver was issued violation tickets for:

The vehicle was towed from scene and the woman arranged alternate transportation for herself and her child. (2025-5008)

Drug paraphernalia seized in traffic stop

On the afternoon of July 1, an officer observed a vehicle departing from a residence known to police as a local drug house. The officer noted a defect on the vehicle and the driver pulled into a gas station to address some wires and the battery before departing the gas station. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver attempted to return to the residence and exit the vehicle. The officer advised the man to remain in his vehicle. The man’s identity was confirmed and he was searched to ensure safety as he was known to possess firearms. Drug paraphernalia was observed in the vehicle and the man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Additional items were seized from the vehicle:

A violation ticket was issued for several motor vehicle infractions and a Notice and Order to address significant damage on the vehicle. (2025-5128)
