UPDATE:

This matter is still under investigation by the Trail RCMP. Trail RCMP officers are looking to identify a second suspect, a third individual, and the vehicle believed to be involved in this incident.
The vehicle used during the incident is described as a dark coloured truck with a canopy and a loud exhaust.

The Investigator is looking to speak to anyone with video surveillance or dash camera footage that was in the area of the 1900 block of Nevada street between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025.

Home invasion in Rossland residence

File # 2025-1749

On Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 2:10 a.m. frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officers responded to a report of a home invasion at a residence in the 1900 block of Nevada Street, in Rossland, BC.
Officers discovered that two masked suspects, allegedly armed, broke into the residence and assaulted a 26-year-old Beaver Falls man. One suspect fled the residence.

The victim sustained non-life-threatening stabs. The victim is expected to recover from his injuries.
Officers arrested a male youth at the scene and transported him to the cell block at the Trail Detachment. He was released from custody after appearing before the court.

Trail RCMP officers are looking for the second suspect and another individual believed to be involved in this incident. If you have any information about this crime, or the identity of the suspects, please call the Trail Detachment at 250-364-2566 to speak to an investigator.

The investigation continues.

We believe this attack was targeted and the suspects and victim knew each other. We do not believe anyone else was in danger. Home invasions with violence is a very rare occurrence and we believe that no one else is at risk at this time, says Sgt. Wicentowich

Horsing around with Trail RCMP

On Saturday, May 18, 2025, at 7:52 a.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer responded to two horses wandering along Highway 22A near the Patterson Border Crossing, in Rossland, BC.

The officer located the two horses who were grazing in the ditch on the side of the highway. The officer managed to identified and contact the owner after conduct neighbour inquiries.

While the officer waited for the owner to arrive to pick up the horses, one horse wandered over to the police car and stuck his head through the window to greet the officer.

The officer then assisted the owner in returning the horses to the property.

I don’t think Bonnie and Clydesdale meant to stirrup any trouble. Our officer used his horse sense to figure out who owned them and rein in this matter to a close, says Sgt. Wicentowich

Trail RCMP seeking information about break, enter, and theft at Rossland museum

On Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 11:38 a.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report of a break, enter, and theft that occurred at the Rossland Museum & Discovery Centre located in the 1000 block of Highway 3B, in Rossland, BC.

Items included a laser engraver and an electronic receiver; however, more is expected to be found missing from the museum.

The investigation is ongoing.
