An armed man is dead after a violent home invasion and attempted robbery.
On Friday, January 5, 2024 at 5:38 p.m., the Quesnel RCMP responded to a report of a home invasion at a residence in West Quesnel. The homeowner reported that an armed man attempted to rob him and that there was a violent encounter leaving the intruder dead. This is an isolated incident and there does not appear to be any further risk to the public.
The investigation is still ongoing, says Sgt. Clay Kronebusch. Police are working to confirm the details of the reported incident and the suspects actions leading up to the event .
