Update #91 on police enforcement of injunction order in Fairy Creek Watershed

Lake Cowichan

2021-09-04 19:23 PDT

Police enforcement of the BC Supreme Court injunction order in the Fairy Creek Watershed area continued today, on September 4, 2021, with ongoing efforts to remove obstructions and individuals from locking devices inside unsafe trenches along Granite Mainline Forest Service Road.

Significant concerns today as rainfall made the trenches two people were in even more dangerous as they were filling up with water and required police to take immediate steps to save their lives. Water was removed and diverted and the obstruction removal specialists continued to remove the individuals from situations these contemnors have placed themselves in.
