On Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 11:00 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report about a single motor vehicle incident at the intersection of Schofield Highway and Bingay Road, in Warfield, BC. The officer, Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire, Rescue and EHS attended the incident.
The officer located the 35-year-old Alberta man driving the vehicle and his passenger at the scene of the vehicle crash. Both man and passenger were allegedly uninjured after the vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree.
The officer observed that the man’s ability to operate a motor vehicle may be impaired by alcohol. A demand was read to the man who provide a sample of his breath which resulted in a fail.
The 35-year-old Alberta man was issued a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) under Section 215 of the BC Motor Vehicle Act. His vehicle was impounded for up to 30 days.
He was issued a $368 fine for Driving without due care contrary to Section 144(1)(b) of the BC Motor Vehicle Act.

On May 10, 2025, at 11:42 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report about an alleged assault that occurred between a 37-year-old Trail woman and a 51-year-old Trail woman in the 1700 block of Third Avenue, in Trail, BC.
The officer attended the scene and discovered the 51-year-old Trail woman with a broken ankle and alleged that the 37-year-old Trail woman had assaulted her. Alcohol was suspected to be a factor in the incident. The woman was transported to the Trail hospital for medical treatment.
The officer arrested the 37-year-old Trail woman for Assault causing bodily harm contrary to Section 269 of the Criminal Code. The woman allegedly resisted her arrest and a physical altercation ensued. The officer gained control of the woman and took her into custody.
The 37-year-old Trail woman was later released on conditions.
The investigation continues.

On May 11, 2025, at 1:44 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer received a report an unknown man allegedly committing an indecent act around Kilometer 7 on the Columbia Trail near Trail, BC.
A man walking a Husky dog was allegedly touching himself while walking on the trail. There was a two-hour time delay in reporting the incident. The officer was not able to locate the man.
He is described as Caucasian, 5’8, with blond dreadlocks.
If you have any information about the man’s identity, or his whereabouts, please contact the Trail Detachment at 250-364-2566 to speak to an investigator. Please do not approach the man and report any incident to the Trail RCMP immediately if you should spot him.
