Three suspects arrested following theft from gas station

Prince George

2024-12-18 12:14 PST

File # 2024-41522

On Monday, December 16, 2024, just after 8:30 p.m., Prince George RCMP responded to a report of a theft from a gas station on the 11400-block of Carmel Drive. The lone gas station attendant stated two people came into the store, demanded money and cigarettes, and then left in a waiting red pickup truck.

Police officers attended the location and observed the pickup truck driving eastbound down Peden Hill. The vehicle failed to stop for police and took off at a high rate of speed. Investigators subsequently located the vehicle at the intersection of Highway 97 North and Tenth Avenue, where it had been involved in a collision with another vehicle.

The suspects fled in separate directions but were all located quickly by police officers. All three suspects were arrested and transported to the Prince George RCMP Detachment, from where they have since been released on Undertakings with future court dates.

This is another example of the great police work being done in Prince George, to have all suspects arrested within 25 minutes of the report being made, despite them fleeing from police and traveling halfway across the City, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

The pickup truck was determined to have been stolen from Fort St. James earlier that day. The driver and passenger of the other vehicle involved in the collision were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. No further injuries were reported.

This investigation is ongoing.
