Police enforcement continued today, on June 30, 2021, with a focus on roving patrols and wellness checks within the injunction area.
During the course of the day, individuals were found to be locked in various devices. 5 individuals were arrested for breaching the injunction (civil contempt of court), after voluntarily unlocking from their devices.
Of note, two individuals had glued and sutured their arms together yesterday, on June 29, 2021, one of whom had their other arm locked in a device in the ground. These two individuals were among those who voluntarily removed themselves from their contraptions today, and were subsequently arrested for breaching the injunction (civil contempt of court). They were transported to Port Renfrew for further medical assessment, and released on conditions with a future court date.

Of the 348 total arrested, 269 were for breaching the injunction (civil contempt of court), 69 were for obstruction, 5 were for mischief, 2 were for breaching their release conditions, 2 for assaulting a police officer, and 1 for counselling to resist arrest.
