File # 2024-9491
Six vehicles stolen from multiple police jurisdictions were recently recovered on a rural Kamloops property, as part of an ongoing investigation.
The vehicles – which included a travel trailer -- were located on April 2, 2024, after the Kamloops RCMP Detachment received a report of a stolen Volvo sedan around 8:20 a.m. that day, from the 100-block of Clarke Street. Tk’emlúps frontline officers located the vehicle abandoned at an address on the 600-block of Shuswap Road. With the support of the Kamloops Crime Reduction Unit, several other stolen vehicles were seized, along with a loaded handgun.
Thanks to the quick actions of the Tk’emlúps police officers and city detachment support units, vehicles that had been stolen out of Oliver, Vernon, and Kamloops were recovered, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. Four people who are known to police were located in the stolen travel trailer, detained, and later released pending further investigation, which includes the assistance of the Forensic Identification Services Unit.
