Police enforcement of the BC Supreme Court injunction order in the Fairy Creek Watershed area continued on July 8, 2021 in the Braden Mainline and Reid Mainline areas.
During the course of the day, individuals were found to be locked in various devices. A total of 3 individuals were arrested; 2 of whom for breaching the injunction (civil contempt of court) and 1 for obstruction.
One individual attached himself to a tree structure which was partially hanging over a bridge. While in the process of being arrested, as officers were attempting to remove him from the tree structure, the individual jumped off the platform over the side of the bridge and escaped lawful custody. Officers were unable to determine if the individual sustained injuries, but was observed landing on both feet on some rocks before running further down the cliff. This individual remains outstanding, despite efforts to locate him.
