North Cowichan/Duncan
2023-12-13 09:33 PST
On December 9, 2023, North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP teamed up with the Cowichan Basket Society for the annual Cram a Cruiser event which took place in front of Canadian Tire in Duncan.
Instead of using the traditional patrol car, officers went opted to use the detachment's prisoner van with hopes to fill its larger space.
The Cowichan Valley did not disappoint and came out to support this amazing event, braving heavy rain and even snow in some parts of the valley. Officers were able to stuff the two rear compartments of the van, and collected $1,033.90 in cash donations.- Source, Cst. Wes Richens of the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP.

The Cowichan Valley Basket Society confirmed that there was an increase in toy donations this year, and a huge increase in cash donations, which will help in filling the gap of needed gifts especially for teenagers. North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP would like to thank the numerous community partners for their continued support and generosity in our community.
